Ben Shapiro slams Democratic voters over poll results showing Trump supporters as their main concern

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro slammed Democrats for the results of a poll that showed the chief concern among Democratic voters is former President Donald Trump’s supporters.

“Republicans’ top concerns: policy,” Shapiro said on Twitter. “Democrats’ top concerns: Republicans, rooted in slanderous notions about Republicans.”

Shapiro included two graphics showing poll results Echelon Insights this month. Echelon Insights is headed by Kristen Soltis Anderson, a Washington Examiner contributor.

The poll showed that the top concern for Republicans is illegal immigration, while the top concern for Democrats is Trump supporters.

Other top concerns for Republicans were listed as lack of support for police, high taxes, liberal bias in mainstream media, moral decline of the country, socialism, antifa violence, China, legal abortion after the third trimester, election fraud, tech company censorship, and discrimination against Christians.

Trump supporters and white nationalists topped the list of Democratic concerns, as well as systemic racism, gun violence, Americans lacking health coverage, domestic terrorism, police brutality, discrimination against LGBTQ Americans, sexism, voter suppression, student debt, and capitalism.

The poll comes after last month’s Capitol riot, which saw a large group of Trump’s supporters storm the Capitol in an attempt to stop Congress from certifying the Electoral College results.

The riot followed two months of claims by Trump that the election was plagued with widespread fraud and was unfairly stolen from him. After dozens of election-related lawsuits failed to go the former president’s way, some Republicans made a last-ditch effort to object to the results of the election in a bid to force debate and present the fraud case to the public.

The election results were eventually certified with little drama in an early morning session after several hours of clearing the Capitol building of rioters and protesters.

The poll was conducted between Feb. 12-18 with 1,005 registered voters.
