President Trump said Thursday that people can see through the “despicable Democrats” and their treatment of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
“The harsh and unfair treatment of Judge Brett Kavanaugh is having an incredible upward impact on voters. The PEOPLE get it far better than the politicians,” Trump said on Twitter Thursday morning. “Most importantly, this great life cannot be ruined by mean & despicable Democrats and totally uncorroborated allegations!”

The FBI concluded its investigation Wednesday night into the sexual assault allegations made against Kavanaugh, and submitted its finding to the White House, which transmitted it to the Senate.
Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez, and Julie Swetnick accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault and misconduct dating back to his years in high school and early college. Kavanaugh has denied all allegations.
Trump remained mostly silent when it came to Ford’s credibility when testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee last Thursday. But at a Tuesday night rally, he questioned Ford’s recollection of the incident.
“‘I don’t know. I don’t know. Upstairs? Downstairs? Where was it? I don’t know. But I had one beer. That’s the only thing I remember,’” Trump said, imitating Ford at his Mississippi rally.
Although multiple people have come out in support of Ford, Ramirez, and Swetnick, there have been no eye witnesses so far that have come forward to corroborate the allegations.
Kavanaugh’s high school friends who were identified as being present at the gathering where Ford says she was assaulted deny any knowledge of the incident.
Trump and Republican lawmakers say the attacks on Kavanaugh are an orchestrated smear campaign to ruin Kavanaugh’s reputation.
Multiple feminist and women’s rights groups have protested Kavanaugh’s confirmation, wearing pins, and holding signs that say “I believe Christine Blasey Ford” even before she testified before the committee last week.
Others have defended Kavanaugh as innocent until proven guilty, and the president says due process is “on trial” in the U.S.
“This is a very important time in our country. Due Process, Fairness and Common Sense are now on trial!” Trump tweeted.
