Former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg joined Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in asking Iowa’s Democratic Party to recount votes from select precincts.
Both presidential candidates claimed victory after the Iowa caucuses on Feb. 3, even though official results from the contest were severely delayed after the app for reporting results failed. Meeting a Wednesday evening deadline, Buttigieg and Sanders asked the state party to recount precincts they had previously asked to be recanvassed, according to CNN.
