Ohio Gov. John Kasich said he’s not “plotting” a 2020 run to challenge President Trump in the Republican primary at the moment, but doesn’t know if he’ll run.

Kasich said on “Fox News Sunday” he still won’t close the door on a run to challenge Trump, but he’s not planning one now.

“I can tell you at this point I'm not plotting a plan anything like that. If that's just not where my head is right now,” he said. “I am going to be a voice for the new generation, the next generation, and for what has traditionally been strong in the party and I'm going to do my best to promote that. And you know what? I think it's going pretty well.”

Kasich said a couple weeks ago he wouldn’t rule out a run in 2020.

Kasich has challenged Trump on many policies and is a frequent critic of Trump’s tone and rhetoric.
