Philadelphia is preparing for a busload of immigrants on its way from Texas. However, Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) says no such bus is being sent to the city of brotherly love.
On Sunday, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney told NBC 10 Philadelphia the city was ready should a bus arrive.

“We were getting information from various advocacy sources that they were on their way, but we don’t know whether or not they’ve actually left,” Kenney told the news outlet. “It’s like a 36-40 hour bus trip, so they could be coming any time tomorrow, Tuesday — but whatever day they come, we’ll welcome them with open arms.”
The Texas governor on Monday said there are no plans to send immigrants to Philadelphia.
“We are currently only busing migrants to Washington, D.C., New York City, and Chicago,” a spokesperson for Abbott told Fox News Digital.
On Nov. 10, Abbott announced on Twitter that the 300th bus carrying immigrants had left Texas headed for Chicago.
“The 300th Texas bus of migrants just left for Chicago. As Biden does nothing, Texas will continue taking unprecedented action to relieve our overwhelmed border communities & secure the border,” Abbott tweeted.
Texas had bused more than 7,900 immigrants to D.C. since April, more than 2,200 immigrants to New York City since Aug. 5, and more than 300 immigrants to Chicago as of September, according to a September press release from the governor’s office.
Other Republican governors have joined Abbott in sending immigrants to other areas of the country.
