‘When they go low, we go lower’: Joy Behar praises Pelosi for shredding Trump speech

ABC’s The View co-host Joy Behar touted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for ripping up President Trump’s speech following the State of the Union address.

“When they go low, we go lower,” the host said Wednesday in response to the speaker’s move. “That’s the only thing that works with these criminals and fascists who are running the country right now. Sorry, but that’s what works.”

Pelosi, 79, tore up Trump’s speech following the end of his address. She later told reporters she thought it was a “dirty speech.”

“It was a courteous thing to do,” she added.

While the House speaker’s move received praise from some — such as “squad” members, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan — she was met with backlash from many conservatives, including Vice President Mike Pence.
