President Obama‘s pick to be secretary of Housing and Urban Development appeared before a Senate committee Tuesday morning.
Julian Castro, the incumbent Democratic mayor of San Antonio, has already accepted Obama’s nomination and is expected to face an easier confirmation than some of the president’s other Cabinet appointees.
Castro is seen as a rising star within the party, though some believe he’d be better suited staying in the Lone Star State and rising the political ladder there than heading to Washington.
