Fox News contributor Donna Brazile issued a scathing rebuke to Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel for her statements regarding the possibility of a brokered Democratic convention.
The debacle took off on Monday morning when Brazile was asked on the network’s America’s Newsroom to address comments McDaniel made about the Democratic Party earlier in the show.
“First of all, I want to talk to my Republicans. First of all, stay the hell out of our race,” Brazile, who was previously the Democratic National Committee chairwoman, said. “Stay the hell out of our race. I get sick and tired, Ed and Sandra, of listen[ing] to Republicans tell me and the Democrats about our process.”
“First of all, they don’t have a process,” Brazile continued, taking shots at Republicans. “They’re canceling primaries. They have winner take all. They don’t have the kind of democracy that we see on the Democratic side.”
“And for people to use Russian talking points to sow division among Americans — that is stupid,” Brazile said before turning her eyes on McDaniel. “So, Ronna, go to hell! This is not about — no, go to hell, I’m tired of it, Ed. We are not — we are not trying to prevent anyone from becoming the nominee.”
Watch @donnabrazile go on an Unhinged Rant and tell @GOPChairwoman to “Go to hell” for giving her opinion on the Dem Primary.
Considering Donna leaked debate questions to Hillary in the 2016 primary, I understand why this is a sensitive topic for her

Her attack came after McDaniel argued that a brokered convention would lead to Democrats trying to take the nomination away from independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
Michael Ahrens, the GOP communications director, responded to the clip on social media commenting, “Rich coming from someone who helped Hillary cheat in the debates and went on a post-2016 book tour claiming the primary was ‘rigged.'”

Ahrens was referencing Brazile’s prior work as the head of the DNC, which included sharing debate questions ahead of time with Hillary Clinton during the 2016 Democratic presidential primary and later making accusations that the contest was “rigged” to ensure Clinton won the nomination over Sanders.
McDaniel also responded, telling Brazile, “It’s ok.”
“I’d be having a bad day too if my party was still hopelessly divided,” she tweeted. “Talk of a brokered convention and the DNC trying to stop Bernie obviously hit a little close to home.”

Talk of a brokered convention and the DNC trying to stop Bernie obviously hit a little close to home.

Brazile, in a subsequent interview Tuesday evening, addressed her earlier comments.
“Let me just say this: As long as I’m alive, I’m going to speak truth to power,” she said. “And I want to make sure that the chairwoman, I know what her job is like, but I want her to understand, to respect the process on the Democratic side. He knows, Karl and I talk about this all the time. Democracy is messy, but do not tell the world that the Democratic Party is trying to rig it for one candidate.”
