Russian figure skaters banned from World Championships

The World Figure Skating Championships are scheduled for later this month in France, but Russian and Belarusian figure skaters have been banned from participating in light of the war in Ukraine.

The International Skating Union announced that no athletes from Russia or Belarus “shall be invited or allowed to participate” in any skating events until further notice.
