President Trump is not yet prepared to unveil a decision on what to do with a controversial Obama administration program that allows children brought to the country illegally to apply for protections, homeland security adviser Tom Bossert said Thursday.

"The administration is still reviewing the policy," Bossert said.

Several outlets reported earlier Thursday that Trump could announce a gradual end to the program, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, as soon as Friday.

Trump has wavered on his view toward DACA since the presidential campaign when he unequivocally called for the end of the program.

He has since suggested the delicate issue must be addressed with "heart."
