ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) — Funeral services are scheduled for one of two teens killed in a train derailment in Maryland’s Ellicott City.
A memorial Mass for Elizabeth Conway Nass, a student at James Madison University in Virginia, is planned for Friday at the Church of the Resurrection in Ellicott City. Nass and her friend Rose Louese Mayr, a nursing student at the University of Delaware, were killed earlier this week when a train carrying coal derailed. Authorities say the two women were sitting on one side of a train bridge and were buried in coal when the train derailed.
Nass’ family has set up a scholarship fund in her honor.
Funeral services for Mayr were planned for Saturday. Both women were 19 years old and graduates of Mt. Hebron High School in Ellicott City.
