Drone video shows progress of Apple ‘spaceship’ campus

Apple is building a new campus scheduled to open in 2016 with a “spaceship” design, and a new drone video shows the progress so far.

As Business Insider reports, the YouTube video recorded the construction between September and October.

When finished, solar panels will cover 700,000 square feet on the campus.

The campus was dubbed “the spaceship” after Steve Jobs’ described it as looking “a little like a spaceship has landed” when he initially introduced the project.

Last Thursday, the Silicon Valley Business Journal announced that Apple will occupy a second spaceship-like building in Sunnyvale, California, but details of when construction will start and be finished have yet to be announced.
