WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama will nominate retiring Sen. Max Baucus of Montana to serve as ambassador to China.

If he’s confirmed by the Senate, Baucus will replace ambassador Gary Locke, who’s announced he plans to leave the diplomatic post.
