The Maryland Board of Public Works is scheduled to vote on a settlement between the state and and the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday that would order the baseball team to pay the state nearly $1 million.
The state is requiring the Orioles to pay up after the team reaped full profits from advertisements behind home plate at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
The team leases the stadium from the state, and is required to pay Maryland 25 percent of its in-stadium ad revenue.
Maryland officials are now ordering the Orioles to pay up for past revenues and asking for 12.5 percent of all future revenues from home plate advertising.
