President Trump renewed his call for a wall along the southern border Saturday after signing legislation to temporarily reopen the government.
“BUILD A WALL & CRIME WILL FALL!” the president tweeted along with a video making the case for the barrier.

The video includes comments from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and former President Barack Obama signaling their opposition to a border wall.
It also highlighted Israel’s wall, which Trump frequently invokes as part of his argument for why a barrier along the U.S.-Mexico border is needed.
“This is not safe here,” says a rancher in the video. “The border’s not secure. Bad guys are coming across. They can be vicious.”
The deal signed by Trump on Friday included no money for the wall but temporarily ended the five-week shutdown. The agreement funds the government until Feb. 15, giving Congress three weeks to negotiate a deal to address border security.
Trump warned that if he does not receive money to build a wall, he would declare a national emergency to do so.
