The national average price for regular gas increased to $4.11 per gallon on Friday, continuing a week of increasing fuel costs at the pump.
Friday’s price point is an increase from Monday when the average cost for a gallon of regular gas in the United States was $4.07. It is also an increase from a week ago when the national average was approximately $4.08 per gallon, before dropping slightly over last weekend. The current August gas price in the U.S. is the most expensive August for gas prices since 2022, according to AAA.
