Over 200,000 millennials voted in the Florida Republican primary on Tuesday, and a slight plurality favored Donald Trump over Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).

CNN exit polls reported that the billionaire businessman received about 36 percent of the youth vote compared to Rubio’s 33 percent. Taking the totals into account, Trump received about 76,000 votes to the Florida senator’s 69,000.

Trump also won the youth vote in Illinois with 32 percent, but lost young voters in North Carolina and Missouri to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), and lost millennials in Ohio to incumbent Gov. John Kasich (R).

The one bright spot for Rubio was that he received strong support among Cuban Republicans; the senator overwhelmingly won their support with 62 percent to Trump’s 18 percent. Though, among non-Cuban Hispanics, Rubio and Trump basically tied 40 percent to 38 percent, respectively.

Overall, voter turnout increased by 20 percent compared to the 2008 Republican primary, and millennial voter turnout increased by 35 percent, or about 75,000 more Gen-Y voters.
