Sarkozys ask for seconds at Ben’s

French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s family didn’t wait in line when they paid homage to Ben’s Chili Bowl.

Then again, the Sarkozys came in for lunch Tuesday, not for the “fourth meal” splurge.

Regardless of the hour, manager Maurice Harcum told Yeas & Nays dignitaries always get the celebrity treatment.

“They sit down in the back … and we have a waiter come out and handle the order,” Harcum said.

There was nothing unusual about what the president and wife Carla Bruni-Sarkozy ordered — half smokes (half beef and half pork sausage) — except that they asked for seconds.

“They were looking at the menu and they were asking questions,” Harcum said. “And after we mentioned that Obama himself had eaten that [the half-smoke] and described what it was, they chose to have it.”

The manager was ever so eager to tell Yeas & Nays just how much they liked their meal.

“They seemed to enjoy to it very much. In fact, they both had a second half-smoke. He actually had his second one without the bun, just the sausage,” Harcum said.
