Prince George’s County has most crime-ridden Metro stations

The top five Metrorail stations in terms of most crimes reported systemwide from July through September all are in Prince George’s County, according to a report by the transit agency.

Branch Avenue (end of the Green Line) recorded the highest number of crimes at 45 total, followed by 33 at New Carrollton (end of the Orange Line).

The Green Line’s Southern Avenue Station recorded the third-highest number of crimes with 24 during the three-month period. Largo Town Center on the Blue Line ranked fourth with 20 total crimes reported. Prince George’s Plaza on the Green Line was fifth-highest with 19 .

Virginia’s stations are among the safest in the system: Braddock Road (Yellow Line) and Vienna (end of the Orange Line) were tied the most crimes reported for the state’s stations with eight apiece.
