President Trump broke out his infamous “drain the swamp” campaign slogan while once again insisting there was no collusion between his presidential campaign and Russia hours after Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

“As the House Intelligence Committee has concluded, there was no collusion between Russia and the Trump Campaign. As many are now finding out, however, there was tremendous leaking, lying and corruption at the highest levels of the FBI, Justice & State. #DrainTheSwamp” he tweeted Saturday.

He was citing the intelligence panel’s recent conclusion, which Democratic members contested and say was a premature decision, Neither the Senate Intelligence Committee nor special counsel Robert Mueller have wrapped up their respective Russia inquiries.

He penned a follow-up tweet rehashing old attacks on former Hillary Clinton and former FBI director James Comey.

“The Fake News is beside themselves that McCabe was caught, called out and fired. How many hundreds of thousands of dollars was given to wife’s campaign by Crooked H friend, Terry M, who was also under investigation? How many lies? How many leaks? Comey knew it all, and much more!” it read. His reference to “Terry M” was about former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a Clinton ally, who donated to McCabe’s wife, Jill McCabe. during her campaign for a Virginia state senate seat in 2015.

The president’s latest attack on the FBI, Justice Department, and State Department came less than 24 hours after Sessions fired McCabe before he could retire with a full pension. Last night, Trump celebrated, calling it a “great day for democracy.”

Just moments before the president tweeted on Saturday, the Associated Press reported that McCabe kept personal memos of his interactions with Trump. The Daily Beast also reported Saturday that Trump’s personal lawyer, John Dowd, suggested now was a good time to fire Mueller.
