Rob Ford’s Twitter account comes back to life, endorses Donald Trump

Donald Trump has plenty of endorsements from living politicians, but today he picked up his first endorsement from the deceased.

Former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, who died from cancer in March, still has an active account on Twitter. And today, that account reentered the political fray. A family member, posting from Ford’s official account, praised the GOP front-runner for adopting a phrase from the controversial mayor’s playbook.

In a West Virginia rally on Thursday, Trump pledged to “stop the gravy train” for consultants, and said that was the reason why #NeverTrump conservatives oppose him.

It’s not the first time Ford and Trump have been linked together. Before Ford’s death he described the billionaire as a “very successful man and a very good candidate for president.”

Ford was Toronto’s mayor from 2010 to 2014. He made headlines across Canada and the United States in 2013 when he admitted to smoking crack cocaine after being caught on camera.
