Lawrence O’Donnell can’t name one thing he likes about Trump

MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell on Tuesday refused to list one thing he likes about President Trump, after a C-SPAN caller asked him to list two things.

O’Donnell appeared on C-SPAN Tuesday morning, when a caller said he is “disgusted” by how MSNBC hosts treat Trump.

“Name two things you love about our current president,” the caller challenged O’Donnell before hanging up.

But O’Donnell refused, and instead said he and other TV personalities are covering Trump aggressively because Trump tells lies “most of the time.”

“Most of the time, most days, the president of the United States in most instances is not only not on the side of truth, he is provably saying things that are not true,” O’Donnell said. “The lies of the president of the United States is now a category of journalistic tracking and journalistic statistical analysis, how often and how much he lies.”

“We have never lived with a presidency like this and so the job of covering this presidency is unlike the job of covering any presidency that we have ever had to cover,” he said.

“For people who are thrilled with this presidency and who want to pretend that the president does not lie and does not lie every day … if you want to believe that, this is the country where you can believe that, and there’s not a thing that I’m ever going to say that will in any way upset your beliefs in that,” O’Donnell concluded.
