Belgian police detained six people late Thursday in overnight military-style raids that targeted central Brussels, where more than 30 people were killed in terrorist attacks two days earlier.
Police focused their efforts in the central part of the city where officials had found bomb-making materials in prior searches. Their raid followed the Tuesday attacks at an airport and metro station that killed 31 and injured more than 260 people.
Law enforcement in Paris, France also arrested a French national man they said had been planning an attack, but was not connected to this week’s Brussels attack or one in Paris last fall.
Two suspects in the attacks are still at-large and officials spent much of Thursday following leads, though suspect they may have already fled the country.
