LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The International Quilt Study Center and Museum in Lincoln will open a new exhibition next month that features colonial revival quilts.
Organizers say the exhibition is titled “Perfecting the Past: Colonial Revival Quilts” and explores a movement from 1880 to 1940, when Americans looked to antique objects for inspiration and used patterns from newspapers to make goods inspired by the past.
The exhibition opens Dec. 7 in the Peg Coryell Gallery at the museum on the East Campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The exhibition features quilts and other domestic items, including flatware and porcelain tableware.
