They teased fans with an almost-liplock while accepting the MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss on Sunday night. But once they left the stage, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart weren’t as coy about their growing affection, reports the New York Daily News.
The “Twilight” couple, currently shooting sequel “New Moon” together, allegedly held hands throughout an intimate dinner date at L.A.’s Cecconi’s … which went on until 11 p.m.
“Robert is obsessed with Kristen and has been for a while,” an insider revealed to the paper. “He likes that she’s a cool, down-to-earth girl. Kristen never saw Rob as anything but a friend, but that seems to be changing.”
Perchance that’s because of his now-rock-hard physique?
“Taylor Lautner has been training Rob a lot, and that’s why he’s got such ripped abs,” “New Moon” actor Kellan Lutz explained. “Rob’s been working hard. He’s trying to be the best Edward [Pattinson’s character in the films] he can be.”
Sounds like he’s doing a pretty good job of it — onscreen and off.
‘NASTY’ RUMORS
Danielle Staub of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” has addressed reports that she had a former life as an ex-con stripper with a cocaine habit. Sort of.
Since the out-of-print book “Cop Without a Badge” surfaced, describing a woman whose mugshot uncannily resembled her, Danielle has been on the hot seat in the media and with her fellow housewives. But she’s not ready to reveal the whole truth about her past just yet.
“I can just say, it’s out there and it will be addressed,” Danielle commented on “Today” on Tuesday. “And I will definitely touch on all the subjects that are crucially in need of touching on at the time when the time is right.”
True. But not everyone has a mugshot.
A REAL ‘CIRCUS’
Is Britney Spears’ comeback the triumph it seems to be? According to E! Online, the pop princess’ return to the stage may be too much too soon. Sources on her “Circus” tour say Britney is basically being propped up — so her pa can profit.
“It’s a freak show right now,” an insider close to the “Womanizer” singer reportedly dished.
During concerts, “she’s phoning every song in,” the source adds of the notorious lip-syncher. “It’s pretty obvious she is not happy to be here.”
And the man pulling the puppet strings, says Brit’s pal, is her father — and estate conservator — Jamie Spears, who allegedly pushed her to return to the limelight before she had fully recovered from her infamous meltdown. “He might as well be saying ‘Dance, Cash Cow, dance!’” the friend fumes.
PRATT’S FALL
Are you sitting down? It turns out that there’s a limit to what Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt will do to get on camera. Who knew?
The high-maintenance “Hills” couple officially left “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here” after just one episode, TMZ reported.
Although Heidi womanned up and ate a rat tail, the twosome weren’t too comfortable in the wilds of Costa Rica. Making matters worse, they were just as unpopular on their new reality show as on “The Hills”: Fellow contestants pranked Heidi by going through her gear and stealing her dry shampoo. (The horror!)
We thought it was pretty hilarious that they gave up so easily…until we remembered that the competition was for charity. Good going, guys.
