ERIE, Pa. (AP) — An Erie man will spend eight months in federal prison for passing a $100 bill that his friend made using instructions he found on YouTube.
Erie police and the U.S. Secret Service say 26-year-old Davon Eady, of Erie, made fake $100s by bleaching $1 and $5 bills with oven cleaner and an automotive degreaser — a process he discovered on YouTube. Eady then used a computer printer to turn the blank bills into $100s.
Eady is already serving 21 months in federal prison for doing that and on Tuesday 28-year-old Dawaan Simmons was sentenced to join his friend in prison.
Simmons had previously pleaded guilty to passing the fake bill at an Erie bar in February 2010.
