Byron & Barone: The politics of finger-pointing

As the 2016 race has moved onto New Hampshire, questions still loom over the result of the Iowa caucuses. Following a blistering assessment from the Des Moines Register, new questions are being raised about the ultra-thin margin between the Democratic candidates. Iowa’s Democratic Party has yet to release the full vote totals for Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.

While Donald Trump offered an initial gracious concession in Iowa, he now claims Sen. Ted Cruz stole the election after Dr. Ben Carson accused his campaign of perpetuating the notion the retired neurosurgeon was planning to drop out. Despite a second place finish in Iowa, Trump hopes to bolster his wide-lead in New Hampshire as Sen. Marco Rubio is gaining popularity. For the Republican field, it is a close contest for second place in New Hampshire. Before the first primary votes are cast the Washington Examiner’s Chief Political Columnist Byron York and Senior Political Analyst Michael Barone are breaking it down.
