99-year-old woman robbed in home

Montgomery County police are investigating a robbery that occurred at the home of a 99-year-old Silver Spring woman.

Authorities say the woman received a phone call Friday asking her to open the door of her McKenney Avenue apartment to complete a survey. When she did, police say two men entered and stole cash and other items.

The woman, who turns 100 this month, was not injured.

Man spends night at party store, police say

A Manassas man was charged with unlawful entry after he allegedly spent the night hiding inside a party supply store.

Joseph A. Hamlett, 47, entered the Party Co. on Thursday evening while the store was still open and stayed the night, according to Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

The next morning, the store manager called police to report that someone was inside the store. Officers found the man hiding in a storage area. Nothing was stolen.

Fairfax County police looking for flasher

Police are looking for a man who has exposed himself to women in the Vienna area.

The incidents happened within 15 minutes of each other Thursday on the W&OD Trail. Around 1 p.m., a man on a bicycle approached a woman and exposed himself. A short time later, the man exposed himself to two women and gabbed one woman by the arm. He fled on a bicycle.

The flasher was a tanned white male, 5-foot-7 and 200 pounds with a large belly, wearing a black shorts and no shirt.

Four shot in District Heights robbery

Four people were shot during an early morning robbery in District Heights, Prince George’s County police said.

The shooting happened before 3 a.m. near Atwood Street and Rochell Avenue. The victims suffered what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
