Georgetown Law School student Sandra Fluke, fresh off the contraception mandate fight, jumped into the student loan interest rate debate by endorsing President Obama’s plan.

“Many students will see the interest rate on Fed[eral] #studentloans increase if Congress doesn’t act by 7/1,” Fluke tweeted with the hashtag, “#DontDoubleMyRate.”
She sent out the message as President Obama took to the University of North Carolina to lobby for Congress to pass a law keeping interest rates on student loans low.
Fluke gained a national profile as a contraception mandate activist who testified before Congress in support of the policy, despite church leaders’ protests that the mandate violated their religious beliefs about contraception.
When talk-show host Rush Limbaugh called Fluke “a slut,” Obama personally called her to apologize for Limbaugh’s remarks and thank Fluke for her advocacy.
