NASCAR and DirecTV contest starts this weekend

There are 75 million NASCAR fans in the world making it one of the most popular sports in the United States making DIRECTV’s NASCAR Head-2-Head Knockout Program the holy grail for its fans. The Head-2-Head Knockout Program is an innovative new bracket-format competition that will showcase existing and new rivalries amongst 32 of NASCAR’s finest Sprint Cup Series drivers in a race for $500,000 to one drivers charity of choice.  The brackets are broken down to that of NASCAR’s many speedways as Turn 1, Turn 2, Turn 3 and Turn 4 will have 8 drivers seeded 1 through 8.  There will be four rounds of competition beginning with Sunday’s Samsung Mobile 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.  The 32 selected drivers will compete in a single elimination format that allows the winning driver of each round to move on through their bracket culminating with the “Fastest Four” at Darlington Raceway on  May 8th

 

You may be asking what about the fans? Well, those 75 million fans will be chomping at the bit when this program starts allowing full fan participation with the opportunity to win the grand prize of $1million for correctly picking a perfect bracket.  The $1million dollar prize isn’t the only thing DIRECTV and NASCAR are giving away as the fan who picks the bracket finishing in 1st place will receive a 2010 ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang, 2nd place will receive a 42” HDTV and third place will receive tickets to any 2010 NASCAR race.  Fans can log onto www.directv.com/NASCAR to enter their brackets and watch history in the making as 32 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series battle it out for the right to call themselves the Head-2-Head champion.
