Jared Kushner, senior adviser and son-in-law to President Trump, asked major firms, including Apple and Google, on Thursday to help the government better utilize technology, according to a report.

During a private phone call, Kushner and members of the White House Office of American Innovation, which Kushner leads, asked the tech giants for help, possibly through a system of “tours of duty” in which tech engineers offer advice to the U.S. government, Recode reported.
