RT, the Russia-owned television network that airs in the United States, is boasting that Russia has the “Father of All Bombs.”
The quip comes a day after the United States acknowledged dropping the Massive Ordnance Air Blast — nicknamed “Mother of All Bombs” — in Afghanistan on Thursday.
“You heard of the #MOAB by now,” the network tweeted, “but did you know about Russia’s ‘Father of All Bombs.'”

The outlet’s story says: “The US boasts that its GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb (MOAB), known as the ‘Mother of all bombs,’ is the largest ever non-nuclear bomb used in combat but, don’t be fooled, Russia possess something far superior. Kids, meet Daddy.”
The Moscow Times published a story Friday titled: “Dear America, Russia wants you to know its bombs are bigger.”
“Russia’s FOAB, like the American MOAB, is a type of thermobaric weapon — a weapon that sets the air on fire and packs a huge explosive punch,” the Moscow Times wrote. “The MOAB’s power is said to be equal to about 11 tons of TNT. Russia’s FOAB is reportedly much bigger, clocking in at about the power of 44 tons of TNT.
