The media and members of Team Obama have come down hard on new White House Spokesman Sean Spicer, even calling for his head, but one of his toughest-talking and long-standing rivals is standing up for President Trump’s top communicator.
Brad Woodhouse, who was Democratic National Committee spokesman when Spicer held the same role at the Republican National Committee, told CNN’s Dana Bash that Spicer is “a good egg, he’s someone who I think is a really decent and good person.”
In a thoughtful profile of Spicer, Woodhouse added, “One thing about him, he’s a true patriot.”

What’s more, he said that reaching the job of White House spokesman is a dream come true for any communicator in Washington, and he’s a bit envious.
“You envy somebody in that role,” said Woodhouse, now the president of the progressive group Americans United for Change. “I would really like to do that, I would like to be White House press secretary.”

The report also included this detail: Spicer continues his habit of chewing many boxes of Orbit cinnamon gum a day, and swallowing it.
