MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) — A 26-year-old Long Island man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for a drunken-driving crash that killed a father of three.

Brian Daly of Valley Stream was sentenced Monday in Nassau County for the February 2013 crash that killed 46-year-old Christopher DeCrescito.

Prosecutors said Daly was drunk and high on cocaine when he broadsided DeCrescito’s minivan in Franklin Square.

They said he was going over 70 miles per hour in a 30 mile-per-hour zone and ran several red lights prior to the crash.

Daly pleaded guilty to manslaughter and other charges in March.

DeCrescito left behind his wife and three children — ages 12, 9 and 8.

District Attorney Kathleen Rice said she hopes other drivers will learn from this tragedy.
