Cheap Trick playing D.C.’s Earth Day celebration

Sunday’s Earth Day celebration on the National Mall will feature rock group Cheap Trick. The band will perform alongside British rocker Dave Mason and Kicking Daises, a teen pop group. On the 40th anniversary of Earth Day two years ago, a concert featuring Sting brought record numbers of people in to D.C. for the celebration. This year’s show has a theme of “Mobilize the Earth.” The organization involved in the planning wants people around the world to help try to perform 1 billion green acts before Sunday. Earth Day Network president Kathleen Rogers says they have well over 900 million acts tallied already.
