Michelle Bachmann slipped today during an interview with Fox News mistakenly claiming that John Wayne was from her hometown.
“Well what I want them to know is just like, John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa. That’s the kind of spirit that I have, too.” she said during the interview.
As Stephen Dinan notes at the Washington Times, John Wayne was actually born in Winterset, Iowa.
The only famous Wayne from Waterloo is serial killer John Wayne Gacy, known as “The Killer Clown” and was also a Democratic Party Precinct captain.
