“Left-wing wackos.” That’s who Hamptons resident Andy Sabin has to contend with in order to display his “Hillary for Prison 2016” yard signs.
Sabin, whose home is in Amagansett, explained to New York Post how he has to guard his signs behind an electric fence, with warning signs and a surveillance camera.
The yard signs certainly seem like a clever take on the 2016 presidential campaign. People have taken pictures with the signs and some have even asked where they could buy some.
Not everyone was so impressed though. Some were so incensed by the signs that they took to stealing them.
After Sabin put his signs out on a Tuesday, one was stolen later that morning, and another by the afternoon.
Sabin has also had less controversial signs stolen from his yard, including his one in 2008 supporting John McCain.
Efforts were already taken by Sabin, who brought the signs in on Monday night before displaying them again the next day.
Whether it’s because “living in a town with a lot of left-wing wackos, that’s what happens,” as Sabin sees it or not, it seems silly that Sabin should have to go to such desperate lengths to exercise his First Amendment right to display the signs.
