Oprah Winfrey is supporting Hillary Clinton for president.
“I’m with her,” Winfrey told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s a seminal moment for women.”
Winfrey said “it’s about time” for a female president and Clinton in the White House would show there is no glass ceiling for women.
Donald Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, said in June 2015 he would consider Winfrey for vice president, which is something he also suggested in 1999 when he was considering a third-party bid for the presidency. Trump has since walked back his praise for Winfrey in an interview with Fox News.
Winfrey hit the campaign trail for President Obama eight years ago en route to his successful presidential bid. She did not yet announce any plans to campaign alongside Clinton before November.
