What’s that about Nickelback, Rep. Trey Radel?

Rep. Trey Radel, R-Fla., has gone beyond rap references this week, moving on to alternative rock.

Radel mentioned the internationally-despised band Nickelback in a Vine video Friday. “Nickelback is awesome,” he grinned. But, wait, there’s more. “I want to pay more in taxes. Obamacare rocks. Congressmen are so cool,” he finished, marking his tweet #StuffNoOneSays Ever.

For observers of politics and pop culture, Radel went from Capitol Hill obscurity to one cool congressman in just a week’s time. That’s thanks to Tuesday’s flurry of tweets about Jay-Z and Thursday’s Buzzfeed op-ed where he explained to the masses why, exactly, he’s a “Hip Hop Conservative.”
