Susan makes note of Democratic Pennsylvania Rep. Joe Sestak’s statement on the supposed “federal job” he was offered by the White House. I’m not surprised that he’s corroborating the White House’s account, but I hope he appreciates just how dumb this makes him look.
For months, Sestak has been stringing the press along with the idea that he’d been offered a job to get out of the Senate race, which he was too principled to accept. He let the speculation carry him onward to the Democratic nomination.
Now he says, Whoops! I was actually just offered an unpaid spot on an advisory panel and asked to keep my old job. And as it turns out, they couldn’t offer me that unpaid position anyway.
I wonder if they’ll try the same explanation with regard to the “job offer” they made to Andrew Romanoff.
