While her official cause of death is pending, some important details have been revealed about how and why Leslie Carter died.
The 25-year-old’s stepmother, Ginger Carter, told authorities that Leslie had “a long history of mental illness” and seemed depressed the morning before she died, according to an incident report from the Chautauqua County sheriff.
Nick and Aaron Carter’s sister suffered an apparent overdose and had been taking medication for depression, according to a police report released Thursday.
People magazine reports that Leslie was staying at her father’s house with her 10-month-old baby. She had coffee that morning on the porch with her stepmother and complained that she was “not feeling great,” the report says.
Ginger said Leslie had slipped in the shower that morning and was helped into bed. Several hours later, her father, Robert, came home and found his daughter in the bedroom not breathing. He called 911 and attempted CPR. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
People says authorities had found medication near Leslie to treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and anxiety, as well as a muscle relaxant.
TMZ is saying Leslie was battling an addiction to prescription meds and had moved to upstate New York to live with family so she could get help kicking the pill addiction.
Her final cause of death will be determined in an upcoming toxicology report.
Gisele asks friends to pray for Super Bowl-bound Tom
The New York Post has gotten its hands on a personal letter that supermodel Gisele Bundchen wrote to her friends and family about husband Tom Brady and his upcoming game. Perhaps you’ve hear of it — Super Bowl XLVI.
“I feel Tommy really needs our prayer, our support and love at this time,” she wrote. “This Sunday will be a really important day in my husband’s life. He and his team worked so hard to get to this point and now they need us more than ever to send them positive energy so they can fulfill their dream of winning this super bowl.”
This super-sappy letter has been making the rounds and no doubt embarrassing the Patriots’ QB, who has already appeared in four Super Bowls and expects he and his team will win on Sunday.
But she went on, “So I kindly ask all of you to join me on this positive chain and pray for him, so he can feel confident, healthy and strong. Envision him happy and fulfilled experiencing with his team a victory this Sunday.”
When the Post emailed her for comment, she said, “I am surprised that you received this email; it was a private note only sent to close friends and family.”
The Patriots will play the Giants, the team they met in the 2008 Super Bowl where the Giants took the win over the Pats 17-14.
Blast from the past
When Suzanne Somers and Joyce DeWitt last saw each other over 30 years ago, it wasn’t under pleasant circumstances.
Suzanne was famously escorted off the set of “Three’s Company” after she asked for a hefty raise that producers deemed unreasonable.
But Chrissy and Janet were reunited after Suzanne invited Joyce to be on her online talk show, “Breaking Through.”
Although the two claim they haven’t spoken in three decades, the women hugged like old friends, reminisced about their days as TV roommates and remembered their co-star, John Ritter, who died suddenly in 2003.
