Emergency response drill planned at Montgomery County hospitals

Residents might see additional military helicopter activity in Maryland today because of a mass casualty drill, police said.

The drill, which will last until 3 p.m., is designed to test emergency response at hospitals and will simulate the movement to and treatment of mock victims, Montgomery County police said.

Normal hospital activities won’t be affected.

In Montgomery County, Suburban Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital, Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Montgomery General Hospital, RICA Rockville and Adventist Behavioral Health are participating in the drill, police said.
