“We Don’t Talk about Bruno” from Disney’s Encanto bumped Adele’s “Easy on Me” from the Billboard Hot 100 chart’s top spot.
The viral track, written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is the second song from a Disney movie to reach Billboard’s top spot. “A Whole New World” from Disney’s Aladdin also reached the top in 1993.
The top song set a record for being a song in the No. 1 spot while having the most credited artists.
“We Don’t Talk about Bruno” is the chart’s first song by a solo writer in more than four years since Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” enjoyed a six-week run. It is Miranda’s first song to earn the top spot.

“It’s been really amazing because ensemble numbers don’t usually get this kind of love,” Miranda said on Billboard‘s Pop Shop Podcast.
Six other Encanto songs are currently on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

The Encanto soundtrack has also sat atop Billboard’s 200 chart for three weeks, marking the first time a Disney song and album were both in the No. 1 spots of the two charts.
Encanto premiered in movie theaters on Nov. 24 and began streaming on Disney+ on Dec. 24.
