One construction worker was killed and another seriously injured when a concrete wall collapsed at the site of a casino being built near the Arundel Mills Mall.
The two were working inside a construction lift when the wall collapsed and trapped them at about 10 a.m. Friday, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Police said 27-year-old Leon Sax, of Hanover, Pa., was pronounced dead at the scene. Darbin Suazo-Jimenez, 25, of Manassas, has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The construction site is located on the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle.
Police said the incident is being treated as an accident and the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health agency is investigating further.
The accident is the second at the site this month, according to the Associated Press. Another worker was hurt on July 5, when a block of concrete fell on him.
