Lamarst A. Porter was shot and abducted near his Severn, Md., home in 2003, according to police.

Authorities have said the attack was likely fatal. But many questions remain unanswered: Porter’s body has never been found — he is still listed in state and national missing-person databases — and his abductors have never been identified.
