VOICEOVER SCRIPT:

THE EIFFEL TOWER IS GETTING A FACELIFT TO CELEBRATE IT’S 125TH ANNIVERSARY — A FACELIFT THAT’S NOT ONLY GIVING TOURISTS A FABULOUS VIEW — BUT A LITTLE BIT OF VERTIGO. TOO.

SOUNDBITE (English) Yousef Mobaidin, Jordanian Tourist:

“Actually I was terrified. It looks really scary.”

FOUR SECTIONS OF SEE-THROUGH GLASS FLOOR PANELS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ON THE LANDMARK’S FIRST LEVEL.

IT’S ABOUT 180 FEET ABOVE GROUND — SO THE PEDESTRIANS BELOW LOOK AS SMALL AS ANTS.

AND STANDING ON THE GLASS — OR SITTING ON IT — IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART.

SOUNDBITE (English) Yousef Mobaidin, Visiting from Jordan:

Although I know this glass is safe, it’s well protected, yet I felt scared. I don’t know why. It looks scary from up here. It’s nice.”

SOUNDBITE (English) Aaron Smith, Visiting from the U.S.

“Hoping they did a good job building it. Hoping I’m not that one guy that falls down. It was fun though.”

THE TOWER WAS ERECTED FOR THE WORLD’S FAIR IN 1889 — AND IT’S THE WORLD’S MOST VISITED PAYING ATTRACTION.

THE COST OF THE IMPROVEMENTS — A LITTLE UNDER 40 MILLION DOLLARS
