New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg might think Coca-Cola, Pepsi and other soft drinks are his city’s latest greatest threat, but a new Rasmussen poll finds that most Americans think his priorities are off.
The mayor announced last week that the city would be banning the sale of large soft drinks at restaurants, movie theaters, ballparks and other private venues in a bid to curb obesity.
A full 65 percent of those surveyed said they would oppose any governmental effort to ban sugary soft drinks larger than 16 ounces, while only 24 percent say they would support such a law to fight obesity.
Only 11 percent said they were undecided.
