Democrats, however, aren’t as worked up about it even though many liberals have faced the same kind of protests and social media hits as Republicans.

The survey said that 47% of Democrats see it as a big problem. It was just 41% for backers of Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.
The survey described “cancel culture” as a “form of boycott in which an individual (usually a celebrity) who has said something that offends some people is called out and shunned.” While the survey analysis highlighted liberals and celebrities being “canceled,” Republicans would include historical figures and key GOP leaders such as the Trumps. They also have cited attacks on Trump properties.

Just today, Twitter suspended elements of Trump Jr.’s account because he shared a video of doctors talking about the controversial anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine, touted as a remedy for coronavirus.
Overall, 56% said “cancel culture” is a problem, though 50% admitted that they have personally “canceled” someone, “meaning they’ve withdrawn support for a celebrity or public figure who did something they consider offensive.”
