Though Miss USA 2010 Rima Fakih was under fire for climbing up the pole (remember those raunchy pictures released last month?), Miss D.C. USA 2010 MacKenzie Green can’t keep away.
The 21-year-old D.C. native has been tweeting about her “new obsession” — pole and lap dancing classes. She’s been taking lessons in Miami, where she is studying at the University of Miami.
But what about her role model status?
“My initial feeling is that if it’s a younger girl, or whatever, I would hope that anybody would first of all explain to her that I’m a 21-year-old, grown woman,” Green said.
She said she thinks pole dancing helps build self-esteem.
“I have promoted … respecting your body,” Green said. “I would rather be dancing in a room on a pole to myself than feeling desperate to have to do it for some man to get attention.”
