Stalemate: White House wins, but PETA war not over

Their hands are up and they’re taking the posters down, but they’re not backing out easily.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has instructed its advertising company to pull its “Fur-Free and Fabulous” ad featuring first lady Michelle Obama after pleas from the White House for using the image without her consent.

But there’s a hook.

PETA wants President Obama to take action against the Vienna, Va.-based Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, which has named its newest baby elephant “Baby Barack.”

“We’re also asking President Obama to compel the [United States Department of Agriculture] to prevent the abuse of baby elephants,” Michael Lyubinsky of PETA said.

Good luck.
